Food Justice Film Series Kickoff

This Friday will be the first day of CRAVE's Food Justice Film Series fundraiser. For the next three weeks we'll be playing documentaries at various places around the city about the problems in our food systems and how we can change it every Friday.
This week we're starting off with the film Bananas!* (www.bananasthemovie.com/). The film deals with Dole's exploitation of workers in Nicaragua in order to provide us with cheap fruit. We'll lead a discussion after the movie that should be lively.

This week we'll be hosted by the awesome and delicious (as demonstrated below) Hillside Quickies vegan restaurant just off the ave (4106 Brooklyn Avenue).

Photos from the June 2nd meeting!!

Hey all, this is Avi again giving you the inside scoop on what's goin' down with us CRAVE folk.

Today we discussed many different things including:
  • Ways for us to get funds for the Philly trip
  • Events that we can attend in order to: show love, teach, and to inspire people to create change in their communities regarding food and social justice
  • Areas we all could improve on concerning ourselves and making our vision come true

To say the least, it was an awesome day. Enjoy the photos!
